Silence is Golden

Welcome to Wednesday Wellbeing at Chafford Park, a series of luxurious day retreats to revitalise, refresh, expand and inspire!

Silence is Golden…

When was the last time you spent a whole day in silence? I mean complete silence, no chat, gossip, disagreement, tech, stress, worry or strife!

We live in a noisy world and still, we wonder why our brains buzz at the speed they do. Let me introduce you to quiet.  Indulge in a day full of nothing much, little to do, no pressure, no responsibility, only an invitation to be fully alive with and for yourself.

Now, I’m fully aware that being is quite a skill so this day will be tailored to support you in your endeavours to allow all the doing to fall away and that gentle, expansive space of being emerge.

Quietly through the stillness and the luxurious natural surroundings of our venue for the day, Chafford Park we will relearn the skill of awakening to the sounds of our soul.

Join me, and together let’s see what unfolds. …

Praying – Mary Oliver

It doesn’t have to be

the blue iris, it could be

weeds in a vacant lot, or a few

small stones: just

pay attention, then patch

a few words together and don't try

to make them elaborate, this isn’t

a contest but the doorway

into thanks, and a silence in which

another voice may speak.

What to expect:

Take away:

When we experience silence we begin to notice things that might otherwise have remained mysterious or invisible. We awaken our innermost curiosity and enliven our senses, to allow more calibration between our internal and external existence.  When we deepen into silence we find ourselves exploring a deep well of stillness and as we dive into the stillness we are exposed to the ever-expanding vastness of stillness that connects us to all things in a way that may not have been experienced ever before.  Try it, it just may be the best thing you’ve ever done for yourself.

Good to know:

You need no experience in any practices to attend this day retreat into silence. Only a willingness to be surprised and an acceptance that sometimes being is far more productive and powerful than doing.
