TRE®, Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises, is a natural way to help repair physical injury, release stress, heal emotional trauma, support a healthy nervous system and boost wellbeing.
What is TRE?
TRE was developed by Dr David Berceli to help anybody use the shaking and tremoring response common to all mammals to release deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma.
TRE is a safe and natural somatic therapy to help return the body and mind to a state of rest and recuperation.
How does TRE help us release stress, tension and trauma?
TRE uses a series of surprisingly simple exercises to activate our natural tremor reflex – a primordial bodily experience known as neurogenic tremors.
Tremors, shaking and other involuntary movements enable the nervous system and the body to relax and release tension and trauma held in the body.
What can I expect in the workshop?
The workshop will introduce the concepts of TRE and teach you how to regulate your nervous system through gentle movement, body and breath awareness and connection with your surroundings.
The workshop will offer a safe space to enable the tremor response to move through your body – in full recognition that everybody is unique and all bodies will move and release in their own unique way.
Who is the workshop suitable for?
TRE is suitable for anyone as it is a safe, natural process to rewire our nervous system for better health – think of it as a body-led myofascial release.
The key is to take things slowly and let your body do the talking!

Alison is a Certified TRE® Provider offering TRE to individuals and groups as well as being a Yoga Teacher and IFS® Informed.
Alison’s training and work in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, reiki and IFS, as well as numerous signs from her body that she was unhelpfully holding on to tension and trauma, led her to explore various somatic therapies over the past decade.
When TRE rapidly transformed her allergies, helped her physical injuries and boosted her emotional resilience and movement through bereavement, she was drawn to train as a TRE® Provider to share the wonders of TRE with others.
Alison loves teaching both TRE and yoga and is thrilled to be offering TRE workshops at Flow where she trained to teach yoga and found her passion for somatic work.
